Out on the ocean a mighty ship was heading for the port, in just a few more minutes it would dock and the passengers would leave the ship and go on their ways. Some where on the cruise for a holiday, some where returning from holiday, others where trainers looking to expand on their prior journey from other regions and some, had arrived to start fresh and begin their life over. One of these people was Marvsta Xeron, a Type 5 PokeMorph, created not born like others.
As the boat made it's final docking procedure, Marvsta stood in his room, hanging slightly out the window and looking back from the direction in which they had traveled. The distant sunrise warmed his soul, what a perfect way to start a new life then on such a beautiful sunrise. He waited a few more moments before he leaned back inside and closed the window.
Picking up his Black Tank Top, he looked at the back with the engraving of Section 26 imprinted in a glowing blue font. He wondered why he kept the shirt, he had left that life behind but still it served him as a reminder of how he lived a darker life, even if it was against his will. Sighing he put the shirt on and then picked up his Red Sleeveless Jacket and put it on over the shirt. He then walked over to a mirror and adjusted his hair, making sure it was standing up how he wanted and when he was satisfied with it, he collected the rest of his belongings and slung his bag over his shoulder and made his way to exit the boat.
After waiting another 20 minutes to leave the boat he finally took his first steps on the soil of the Solastella Region. "It all starts new from now Marv, you did what you could back home now make sure you enjoy yourself here. You made a promise to your parents and also Stacy that you would become the greatest trainer you could, don't go back on that!" he said to himself as he got his mind right for the journey that was before him.
Realizing he had no idea of the location of the Solastella Pok?mon Lab, he approached a small store and asked one of the workers who wrote down some directions for him on a sheet of paper. Thanking the worker he left the store and started in the direction of which the instructions said.
The air was cool against his face and was glad for it, being an Arcanine PokeMorph wasn't all fun and games, he felt the heat that a normal Arcanine could produce flowing through him at times and so he cherished any time a cooling breeze or rain was covering him. Looking back down at the directions he smiled as he noticed he was not far from the lab and so he increased to a running pace.
Usually he would Morph into his Arcanine form when he ran however he felt happy and free, something he had not felt in a long time and so he decided to cherish the moment as long as he could. Turning around a corner he noticed the structure of the Lab ahead of him and stared in awe at the building as it got larger and larger the nearer he got.
Slowing down to a walk as he approached the entrance he took hold of the red gem that hung down from his neck and stepped inside. He was suddenly filled with thoughts of what Pok?mon he would ask to join him on his journey, Ohh crap I haven't thought of what I want. Do I get a fast type or a slow type, a stronger type or a weaker type to train? Grass, water, rock, fire, electric, psychic? Ahh why didn't I think about this earlier!! these thoughts screamed in his mind and with a sigh he found a seat and sat down to think about what he wanted before he proceeded any further.

”Oh no, not another one.” The clearest thought in Alexander’s head was one of boredom and slight annoyance. He had a BSc. in Pokémorph Genetics, PhD. in Genetic Sciences and over fifty published scientific papers to his name. Despite his impressive credentials, the man, approaching twenty-eight, was being forced to sit around in Solastella Region Pokémon Laboratory and hand out pokémon to new trainers.
He had been honoured to be selected to research there - though the laboratory was small and homely, resting gently upon meadows swaying in the crisp ocean breeze, it was no back-room workshop - some of the technology here was seriously advanced, and only a select group of scientists made it into the facility. But the contract had stipulated it specifically. Right there, clause 1: ”All scientists employed by the SRPL must perform auxiliary duties as trainer guides in line with the Solastella League’s New Trainer Assistance Policy.”.
He sighed. From the window of one of the presentation rooms, he had seen the trainer arrive. Foreign, definitely, and rather tall - he had the look of someone who had never been to Solastella before. It was the bag slung over his shoulder that gave him away - this was definitely a beginner trainer. Dragging himself away from his half-scribbled research notes on the functional role of chromosomal mutations in determining the species of Type 3 Pokémorphs, he wandered absent-mindedly towards the front room.
This was a joke. He practically invented the Type system, yet here he was- obliged to listen to naïve young things telling him about how excited they are and how much of a difference they’re going to make and how far they’re going to travel.
”Alright then,” he drawled, his husky voice reflected in his rolling blue eyes as he stepped into the room, ”Which one are you after?”
He didn’t even look at Marvsta - instead he focused on some old photographs of Professors that had presided over the laboratory in previous generations.
”Bet they never had to put up with this” he thought bitterly.

Marv sat quietly in thought as he held onto the gem hanging from his neck. Numerous Pok?mon types and names crossed his mind as to which he should pick to start with. As the list continued to fill his mind, he looked up and noticed as another person approached and spoke to him. "I'm actually still quite undecided on what I want to get, there are just so many choices, Golett, Frillish, Abra, Tenacool, Elekid and Phanpy just to name a few that have crossed my mind once or twice" as he spoke, one name stood out and the excitement inside of him grew and he could feel the Arcanin Morph side of him start to show on his skin as his face, arms and legs grew thickened black hairs.
The hair grew down from his head and curved down his face, two points on either side and his arms and legs also had the same happen except it spiraled around them, <No not now, I have no idea if this Region even knows of PokeMorphs!> he thought to himself worriedly as he tried to calm himself down.

”Oh dear, I WOULD get an indecisive one, wouldn’t I?” It was a good thing Alexander was facing away from Marvsta, because his expression was none too polite.
”Well, that’s your decision” he said absent-mindedly, trying to keep his mind on other things. ”Personally I’d go for Golett”
That was a lie. He just hadn’t listened to any of the other options and wanted to get the trainer out of here as soon as possible. He turned to look at the man, still clutching something and sitting down politely. He forced a smile onto his face.
Soon, however, the smile vanished.
”You. You’re a morph?” he asked, his eyes slowly widening. ”FINALLY things are getting interesting”
It was impossible to have studied Pokémorphs as meticulously as Alexander and not know the tell-tale signs. There was slight fraying of his hair at the ends - a sign of repeated growth and shrinkage. Small tears and odd foldings in his clothing from the transformations - definitely a Type 1, 4 or 5.
When Marvsta started to transform, perhaps due to an emotional reaction, Alexander eliminated another typing from this strange man - not a Type 1 either.
”Interesting. You don’t appear to have a natural reaction to your transformations - something about the way you transform is ... different.”
For the first time, Alex forgot how annoyed he was...

Marv looked at Alexander as he mentioned Golett, "Golett huh? Nice to know someone else appreciates the more ancient of Pok?mon and the mysteries that they contain, quite possibly even to the origins of Pok?mon." he smiled as he kept trying to contain his Morph.
As he finally gave in and accepted that he couldn't contain his excitement he looked again at Alexander, however with a slightly shocked look on his face, "So you do know about Morphs here in Solastella. Well yes I am a Morph, an Arcanine Morph to be exact." he added and looked around for a fan to stand near due to the heat emanating from the Arcanine Morph.
"That's because I am different." he said in a lower tone then looked Alexander in the eyes "I doubt any other Morph in Solastella is the same as me. No I don't mean as an Arcanine Morph, I mean by how we came to be. For I was not born a Morph like many, no I was created! he said in a raised tone as his eyes lit up, showing the full size and distinguishing yellow color of them.

”What, does he think this is some backwards nation or something? Of course we have Pokemorphs here. But wait, he was created? Does that mean it’s legal in the region he comes from?” Even the professional Pokémorph geneticist couldn’t suppress the shudder that tore through him. No matter, it wasn’t his job to discuss the history of the trainers that passed through the lab. It was his job to get them ready to go.
”Right, well I’m going to go and get the trainer kit that we provide,” he said, getting up and wandering out of another door. ”Try and make up your mind as to which pokémon you’d like before I get back, or I’ll just assign you one!”
For a few moments, there was silence, and then Alexander returned - he had a shiny black card in his hand and a sleek new smartphone. He looked at it pensively.
”Pretty cool, aren’t they? This is the latest model from LaBerre, the LB3X. They don’t give starting trainers snazzy smartphones in every region, you know! Shame you didn’t start a little later, I heard the Lab’s pre-ordered a stock of LB4s haha. Anyway, that’s got your Pokédex built in and you can use it to contact other trainers. Meanwhile, this...” he held up the black card so it was at eye level with Marvsta. It immediately made a -snap- sound and the card filled with a large picture of the pokemorph’s face. ”Is your trainer card. If you just sign here and fill out your details, it should then automatically register you with the League. It’s preloaded with Ƨ100, unless you’d prefer payment in Parsennes.”
He paused for a moment.
”You’re a foreigner, you probably don’t even know what Parsennes are. In any case, have you picked a pokémon yet?”
Alexander wasn’t quite sure just how angry he’d be if the trainer decided to waste more of his time.

Marv nodded as Alexander walked away, "Okay Marv, final decision time who you gonna pick?" he said to himself as he paced back and forth. Running his hand through his hair he looked up at the ceiling as he thought aloud to himself, "Okay that's it then...That is who I will choose!" he said a bit louder then he had hoped and then looked to his side as Alexander came back.
He looked at the LB3X and a slight grin crossed his face, "Indeed they are quite impressive, we certainly do not have those back home." he replied and laughed as Alexander mentioned the LB4's. "Ahh well, can't always have the perfect timing" he added and then looked at the black card wondering what it was and then looked confused as it made a sound. His thoughts were quickly answered though as Alexander kept speaking. "Huh that's uhh....different..." he stammered confused and then took the card and started to fill out his information.
As he was doing so he looked back up "Parsennes? Nah never heard of them. You guys got two currencies here do you? Ohh and I'll take a Golett thanks." he replied and went back to filling out the card.

”Not just two currencies, three languages too! But if you don’t speak much Solastellan or Fezan, it’s okay - most people get by just great with English. But anyway, here are the three Golett I’m able to offer you. Take your time, pick the one you’d like to start your journey with.”
Alexander continued to smile as he thought about how little time he’d like the trainer to take, but no matter.
”Anyway, you look over the Pok?mon, I just need to go swipe your card to load it up. We’re very modern out here in Solastella, though it looks like we’re an untouched island country sometimes - the cards are all electronic and handle your payment as well as your progress. It’s the single most important piece of kit you’re going to receive - you need to present it when you enter Contests, Gyms, and whenever you purchase anything. Solastella is a cash-less country.”
Again, Alexander left for a few moments, leaving Marvsta and the three pokéballs in the room. Eventually he returned.
”So, who’s it going to be?”

"Three languages? Why do you need 3 languages over here?" he asked with a surprised look on his face but quickly shook it off as he was presented with 3 Golett. He looked at them all and read over their descriptions. He looked up as Alexander said he was heading off to swipe his card, "Ok no worries, I won't be going anywhere" he said and watched as he left.
Continuing to look at the three Golett he spoke softly to himself, "Come on Marv you can't be too surprised about this. You will just have to get a Shiny Golett in the wild, besides it'll be more fun for you that way. Now which of these would you prefer aye boyo?" he kept speaking to himself before coming to a decision.
He stood up and waited for Alexander to return and played with the gem around his neck. As he waited he felt the hair's on his face grow a bit thicker as his heart rate increased, "Calm down Marv" he said to himself then noticed Alexander come back.
"I'll take the first Golett thanks" he said simply.

”Are you sure?” Alexander eyed Marvsta carefully, looking intently at the beginner trainer. ”This is your final decision? Okay, good!” He rolled the pokeball over, letting it slide across the fine wooden table.
”Right then, you’re set! The Twin Isles have two major ports, one at Romulus and one at Remus Isle. The Romulus port handles inbound traffic while the Remus port takes traffic outwards to the rest of Solastella - that’s going to be the first stop on your journey. You’ll have to make your way across Verda Bridge to get there, it shouldn’t take more than a day’s journey or so. Verda Bridge is that big, tall brick one that seems to stretch into the horizon - it might seem like a barren motorway, but actually it’s a flourishing park filled with vegetation”
He gave Marv a casual salute.
”Lemme know when you become a master trainer, mystery man.”

"Yeah I am sure, thanks" Marv said and rested his hand on the table, collecting the Pokeball in his hand as it rolled to him.
Listening as Alexander instructed him on where his first destination would be he recalled seeing bridge from the ocean as the ship he arrived on was docking. He was glad that he wouldn't be getting lost on his way there. "Yeah I saw the bridge when I arrived here in Solastella. I'm quite glad that is my first point of travel as it looked quite impressive from the ocean so getting a close up view was always on my plans while here." he said with a slight smile.
Picking up the Phone and Trainer card, he placed them into a section on his belt and also clipped the Pokeball to his belt before looking back at Alexander. "Master Trainer?" he said slightly surprised, "I have no intentions on becoming a Master Trainer. Ohh no I am just hear to enjoy a new area and possibly learn new breeding techniques and let my folks back home know of them to help our family business. Just gonna enjoy myself!" he added as he saluted back and then turned around and left the lab.
