The sun barely shown beneath a thicket of season dry trees, and the sky was a pale blue color that signified morning on an nearly-end-of-winder day. Thin, stratus clouds filled in a small spaces in the sky. The early morning Pok?mon, which were mostly small birds, insects, and mammals all came out of their homes to either collect food or enjoy the nice weather.
A few bird Pok?mon flew around the old, man-made bridge which Destiny walked carefully on, well sort of. Her motions were slow, yet unsteady and unpredictable, and she nearly had times where she fell on the rough stone on the side of the bridge. Her shortness was what saved her. She decided to stay out on the side of the bridge, because a few bikers were taking their morning rides on the long bridge.
Destiny's Pok?mon, which was a young Growlithe called Vali, tried his best to evenly match his pace with his owner's pace. He directed Destiny where to go and barked lightly when she was going the wrong way or nearly falling off like she did a few moments ago, just like what a guide dog would do to a blind patient.
"Geez. I told you that we should of went to stay at the Pok?mon Center. It wasn't even that far away!", retorted Vali while biting her bare leg softly when she was about to run into a biker. She blinked, and then tried to roll her sleepy eyes. Dark circles enveloped under her clean, clear skin, and her cross-body bag was about to fall off of her shoulder.
"I'm fine. Stopping for breaks will make our "champion Pok?mon Trainer" title get farther away from us. Just worry about yourself, okay?" she replied in a sick, quaky voice. Vali huffed, noting his trainer's stubbornness, and clenched his teeth. Now he really wished his trainer would fall off the bridge.
"But I'm your loyal dog. I guess if you want me to not worry about you, then fine by me. A healthy trainer is one who'll achieve the most", said Vali, who now held his head high, and his big fluffy tail pointed straight in the air. Though he still opened his one eye to make sure Destiny was walking the right direction.
The air was thin, but the weather was nice outside by Verda Bridge. The two of them traveled a moderate pace to the end of long bridge, and Destiny stopped and narrowed her eyes. She tried her best to catch a glimpse of the end with her horrible, no-sleep vision, but she knew from a fuzzy vision that they were no where close to reaching the end yet. Vali stopped to sniff the air around him, and closed his chocolate brown eyes while only using his one sense.
"What is it?" asked Destiny lazily, and she stopped and looked down to her side where Vali stood beside. The orange dog kept sniffing the air, taking in new and unfamiliar scents. He stopped, and looked at his trainer who was slowly looking even more unconscious by the second.
"Oh nothing. Just taking in all of the new scents. It's almost too much for my nose", said Vali. Destiny widened her eyes, remembering that he was used to being in the lab most of his life, and then smiled. The two of them then continued to walk farther down the bridge.
