so the 3-dodge rule is very fair and i'm all too happy to follow it! but when moves like double team and smokescreen come into play, as well as abilities like sandslash's which increase evasiveness in a sandstorm, i have to wonder if maybe we ought to tweak it for those moves only?
my suggestion is that, say, you have the sandslash in a sandstorm. his ability makes him more likely to dodge as long as the sandstorm is raging. would it be reasonable to make it so that he is able to dodge 4 attacks instead of 3? same with things like smokescreen. you use it once, lowering the opponent's accuracy. you can now dodge their attacks 4 times in a row instead of 3. if you use it twice, or use two double teams or minimizes, etc, you can dodge 5 times in a row instead of 3. this could scale to a max of 6, perhaps, just double the 3 that is standard.
while this would be extremely frustrating in a roleplay, it's meant to be. it's the same way in the games. accuracy and evasiveness are not used to their fullest in roleplay as what they're supposed to be: obnoxious ways to make your opponent want to flip a table and also keep your Pok?mon, which may otherwise be sort of a lightweight, alive for much longer. it's a viable strategy, but if it isn't really acknowledged in roleplay, what's the point in using those moves at all except for show?
i'm not suggesting even that a Pokémon should dodge that maximum number of times in a row. i hardly ever have a Pokémon dodge more than twice in a row, since it doesn't make sense unless the Pokémon is specifically known for dodging very well, as with double team or smokescreen. but i think the option should be available, and utilized, because frankly it's only fair that those moves get some kind of use instead of taking up space in a moveset as merely something to add a little glitz to your post.
