Alex surveyed the area closely. Flowers, benches; a wide, vast, blue ocean. Heck, he could live here forever if he really wanted to. What was so fun about going on a suicidal adventure anyway? He didn't have any set destination. This place was pretty enough... If only he had a camera, he'd take a shot of this and send it to his mom and family.
Nah, just imagined big brother... "You're supposed to be adventuring, you dumb twat." Yeah.... No, that wouldn't work out. Alex walked down the grass until he stumbles upon a sign. "Romulus Isle Lab" Alex read out loud. A Lab? Curiosity got the better of him, as he stepped into the lab. It was dusty and grimy, but bearable.
"Hello?" Alex called out. "What's the purpose of this Lab?" Alex asked loudly again. Place seemed really empty... Was it abandoned? The sign outside looked like it was placed just yesterday, though. Nothing here, Alex shrugged as he slowly left the Lab.

As Alex turned to leave the lab, a young man, around nineteen or so, came in.
"Hey! Can I help you, mate?" he asked, his voice being dark and smooth. He seemed friendly enough, and the unbuttoned white shirt he wore belied a relaxed attitude. This was most unlike a lab. The entrance room itself was large, but filled with wooden flooring and warm rugs. The cupboards were warm and homely, the sofas were full and comfortable. Lamps lit up long bookshelves, though the plentiful windows meant that light in here was ample.
"My name's Dawkins. I'm one of the lab assistants on Romulus Isle. When Miranda Isle decided to set up a League on these islands, they established our lab to welcome trainers. Hi. We help get trainers started and answer any questions they might have."
He was toned and muscular, but sweating slightly, even though it was autumn now and the island was not that hot.
"Sorry," he mumbled, wiping his face with a towel "I was just working out in the gym."
He waited for Alex's response.

Alex commended anyone who was able to keep up an exercise routine. He couldn't even run an entire lap around a small park. He was badly out of shape but he turned back around. "A starter Pok?mon, huh? Then do you have any... Uh..." Alex didn't know many Pok?mon from the top of his head. The two he really knew where Electrike and Growlithe, two puppy Pok?mon. He had to choose one over the other.
"I'd like a Growlithe, please." Alex decided the fire-type Pok?mon over the Electrike he had in mind. He could always catch one anyway, so it wouldn't really matter, right? "Yeah, i'm sure I want a Growlithe!" Alex casts a smile on his face arched himself. He nods his head.
Inspecting the man further, he had a well built body, yet he was sweating. Guess he really WAS working out. Alex started to wonder if he was the only helper in the lab... A lab should have a professor, though.

Dawkins nodded, before turning away to get some poke balls from a nearby cupboard. His muscles rippled slightly as he moved. He eventually pulled out three of them, putting them on a table in-between two couches. Next, he started searching lower drawers, until eventually he pulled out a sleek looking phone and what appeared to be a plain black credit card.
”Listen up, this is the kit we give you, bro. We’ve got three Pok?mon for you to choose from, a smartphone with a built in pokedex and this little baby.”
He held up the trainer card, and the screen made a sort of snapping noise. It had taken a picture of Alex’s face and already it filled the card’s side. This seemed to be an electronic card. Dawkins handed it over to Alex.
”Okay, fill out your name and age, and it should be preloaded with Ƨ100 for you, unless you’d rather take payment in Parsennes. Oh, and you’ll need to pick one of these three. You can use your smartphone’s Pokedex app to see their stats. Your trainer card is really important, it’s basically your ID card and bank account all in one. Don’t lose it.”
Placing emphasis on the last sentence, he then waited for Alex to pick a Growlithe.

[OOC: Going for Growlithe number 1.]
Alex stared at one specific Growlithe. One that seemed very punk-ish. He felt that the other pups would not fit him or wouldn't get along with him at all. Especially the beauty queen one. He hated people who think they were all that and this. Bleh, and then the sneaky prankster. Pranksters weren't his idea of a "friend". Actually, the punk one reminded Alex of a certain someone.
"I want HIM." Alex said eagerly. He seemed determined to set that bad puppy straight. Alex stared at the picture of the trainer card... His long and wide-spread hair tied into a pink bow... What would people think of him? Light colors like pink were really unprofessional... His brown shiny hair and brown and orange hat wasn't really helping either. What would happen to the little reputation that he had?
Alex shook his head and fixed his bangs. "Oh right.. My name and age." Alex entered his name in.
Alex Rizuna Thirteen years of age. [OOC: THERE'S NO TIME-PARADOX HERE]
Thirteen years, huh? He was really young, explaining why he was really short. "So Ƨ100? Guess i'll have to do a bit of shopping then. Alex wasn't handed any tools for capturing or anything... Great, really amazing.

Noticing Alex messing with his fringe, Dawkins suddenly lurched into attention.
”Oh, err - one more thing. If your ID card ever stops being an accurate representation of you or a different picture, you can take another picture of yourself and upload it onto the card itself.” he added hastily, before handing over the smartphone as well.
He wandered over to the first Growlithe, his small blonde hair shifting slight as he did. He smiled a goofy but cute smile, flashing his impeccable teeth.
”Here you are. And yes, there’s no set starter pack in Solastella. I think it’s cool to have the freedom to just buy whatever you need, bro, don’t you? You can stop by a Mart on the way to Verda Bridge if you like, and buy some key essentials.”
He yawned slightly, before being interrupted by his own smartphone going off.
”Hello? Yeah babe? Mmhmmh, no! No, I haven’t forgotten about our date! I’m just on my way now. Yeah, yeah, traffic’s terrible. I’m so sorry babe. Can you just wait for me, brah? Yeah, I’m almost there! I promise.”
He shot Alex a hurried look.
”Is that all, brah? Because I have somewhere I need to be.”

It can access the Gazette online, surf the web and even has a built in Pokedex! Not to mention its calling, e-mail and text messaging prowess. It’s not the best smartphone in the world, but nonetheless, it gets the job done![/i]

For one thing, this one is entirely electronic, and it automatically updates itself as you progress through the region. It also acts as a credit card and ID badge. At the same time, it measures your progress across different disciplines.[/i]
