[atrb=width,400,true][atrb=rules,none,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][bg=201f1f] silken clouds drifted lazily within the oceanic swirls of the heavens, reckless to skate before the brilliantly golden mass which rained down gentle but heated rays to the vegetated domain below. lulling breeze ushered the ivory billows to and fro and with each tender gust the masses twisted and turned, inside and out, reaching and withdrawing to paint new pictures against the soft azure canvas. their aerobatic careening and contorting brought a tantalizing dynamic to the recently bland skies and from their enticing depths rained a somewhat worthy warmth. how refreshing, on a typical winter's day. the rays floated to the browning stalks below, who welcomed their golden light with broad stretched arms and amongst such lush greenery the beams found their way to a lone figure, whose presence was hushed below the grandeur of the blades.
her own blue eyes were focused intently to the heavens above, their glassy surfaces reflecting the acrobatic acts of the clouds above. the wind kissed femora lay deathly still, her spine resting softly against the earth, stomach pointing towards the heavens. an air of serene tranquility caressed over the flaxen frame hidden within the towering greenery, careful to lap over each inch of her alluring entirety. suddenly her chest lifted towards the skies as a deep breath was drawn in only to be released in a heavy sigh moments later. with such a released, muscles cooed and further let themselves immobilize, once more setting into an eerie stillness.
heavenly rays landed with affable grace upon the girl, taking their time to weave through the wind ruffled ebony hair before taking their flattery to the loose fabric of her clothes. another sigh lifted her frame for a moment and in that moment she allowed lids to fall over her own deep sapphire pools, sheltering them from the timid sun and for moments allowing them to regain their strength in the shelter of the shadows. ever churning eyes were opened to the world once more as she filtered over the thousands, if not millions, of thoughts that drifted through her mind in mimic of the clouds before her. their details twisting and contorting, much like the acrobatic clouds, as she mulled over them soon placing back to the caverns of her memory before bringing forth another. amongst the waving stalks of greenery, within the gracious flood of warmed light she was utterly consumed in thought, and for now she seemed completely content with being lost in the fathomless depths of her own mind.
this wasn't the first day lorelai woke up curled amongst tendrils of foliage. it surprised her how much she had gotten used to the change, from a queen-sized bed to fresh soil. but did she have a choice? after all, the girl had only managed to take what she had with her in that instant.. definitely not enough money to earn her an uncomfortable mattress in the poke center every night.
sitting up suddenly, her muscles tensed slightly, relaxing as she released a shaky sigh. not even near the lab, and she was suddenly beginning to realize how real her environment was. this would be her last day alone, she thought in effort to soothe herself. gulping still, lorelai branched herself up, cautiously making her way to the notorious lab.
simply approaching the building seemed to take a bigger toll on her than she would have predicted. mouth suddenly dry, lorelai squeezed the strap of her satchel tightly. twisting and wrenching it until she was but inches away from the door. she could only think of her parents right now, if they even wondered where she might've gone. her shoulders slumped in ease. it was too late to think about that now. pushing through the doors, her empyrean irises scanned the room. like a sponge, they absorbed every detail about her memorable surroundings. she blinked once, as if confirming silently that she was in the right place. "h-hello? i'm here to get my Pokémon?"

The lab aide took one look at the pale, fragile looking girl who had spoken in such a soft voice and quickly walked over to her, plastering a warm smile on her face. She noticed the dirt and creases in the girl's clothing that said as clearly as if spoken 'I slept outside' and felt her heart break a little. It didn't matter how many neglected looking children wandered into the lab she thought of as hers, she still felt exactly the same as she did when seeing the first one.
"Hello, dear," she said as gently as she could manage, "My name's Thyme, call me Chime if you like. Is there any way I can help you?"
She meant it, down to her bones. Thyme would do anything to help the girl who looked like nothing more than a baby bird Pokémon standing in the lab, though she suspected that all she would be asked for was a Pokémon and items.
Thyme didn't look like the motherly, caring person she was. She was barely any bigger than Lorelai herself was, and her hair was only two inches long and dyed a bright purple. She wore something similar to a kimono made out of clearly expensive fabric. It was covered in beautifully drawn bird type Pokémon. There were strange symbols drawn on her hands and forehead in what looked like dark brown pencil. She looked odd and mystical and certainly not the type to either work in a lab or worrying about anyone eating enough.

[atrb=width,400,true][atrb=rules,none,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][bg=201f1f] all forward action ceased at the researcher's words, to which lorelai flinched slightly, nerves relaxing once her soothing voice registered within the skittish girl. "hi.." she murmured quietly. her empyrean gaze was snatched by the woman's outlandish ensemble of clothing, appearing to have lorelai distracted long enough to have her forget where she was momentarily. not even close to an expert, lorelai recognized the traditional looking outfit from a magazine she stumbled upon a long ago. if it weren't for this specific location, the rookie would've mistaken her for erika from the kanto region.
blinking, her observation then sashayed to the unusual symbols plastered across her features. lorelai had studied different languages over the coarse of her past but from the puzzled furrow of her brow you could tell she did not recognize it. perhaps she would ask about it later.. or maybe not. she decided, jumping back to reality when she caught herself staring. "sorry," she squeaked, waving her hands in front of her. "thats okay, i just want my Pok?mon." like oftentimes when lorelai met someone new, the woman didn't give any sign as a threat as far as the naive girl could see. so long as you could brush past the markings and clothing.
consideration unfurled in the depths of her mind. the atmosphere around her quickly felt distant, as if someone left the room while she was lost in her mind. who would her starter be? she didn't need anything amazing.. just a Pok?mon that would aid her in the momentum of her journey. a strong fire type, mayhaps? still, the fear of scorched hair flashed in her databanks and she immediately denied those possibilities. a quick electric type? too high maintenance. a part of her wondered if she was becoming a tad bit picky at that moment, but she reminded herself that deciding on a partner was significant decision. a decision that would probably effect her adventure tremendously. "do you maybe, possibly, hopefully carry any... g-grass types? maybe a petilil even?" her fingers twiddled between each other as she stared at her feet, trying not to resonate too much excitement or negativity. she always admired the Pok?mon's waltz like movement along the wind. it was like an effortless dance without the support of the ground, a smooth, and independent glide across the sky. with the species name rolling off her tongue, the teen was reminded of the days she would sit watching them pass by her house. wanting to join them for so long in such a huge world, she suddenly felt a peck of giddiness. smiling softly, she listened attentively for the woman's answer.

Thyme nearly flinched herself at the girl's quiet greeting. There was no confidence at all in it, and she thought sadly, You're going to get walked all over, aren't you.She wasn't in the least surprised at the fragile looking girl's apology or request for a Pok?mon, though she was saddened by it. She wanted so badly to sweep the child up in her arms and tell her that everything would be okay and make sure that everything would be okay. Thyme was good at that, if she did say so herself. But she had been told very clearly that she couldn't randomly hug people who wanted to be trainers when she had taken the job, she instead she just gave the dark haired girl her kindest smile and waited for her to continue speaking. Thyme was even more enchanted after the girl hesitantly asked for a petilil. "We do, love," Thyme said, neglecting to mention that if they didn't she would've personally made sure to get one for the girl, "I'll just go get three for you to choose from and your phone and ID, of course." She offered the girl another smile, and then turned around and walked into the back of the lab. Thyme was just worried enough about leaving the girl alone in the lab that she hurried, her kimono flowing behind her and adding a strange elegance to her exit. Thyme walked out into the garden behind the lab, grateful that it was close to the door, and took a deep breath of the clean, fresh scent of flowers and earth. The grass Pokémon always kept the garden perfectly well looked after and it was a sight to see even in the winter months. She moved swiftly though the garden, looking for the three tall green leaves that marked a petilil. When she found one, she gently scooped the Pokémon up into her arms and softly explained what was happening. After filling her arms with the three petilil in the lab, she walked back into the lab, her steps slower than before. The girl whose name she had never gotten was there, waiting, and Thyme couldn't help but be excited for her as she set the petilil on the ground. One of them looked up with sleepy eyes, her leaves drooping, one shifted her weight and studied the girl, and the last just looked at the ground. She is perceptive, quick witted and takes a pessimistic view on life; this often makes her attempts at doing the right thing in any situation go badly. It's hard to get under [Name]'s wall of wariness, but once it's happened she's fiercely protective and completely loyal to those she considers 'Her People'. This can cause problems, as she tends to distrust new friends of 'Her People'. Still, there's nothing that can cause her to lose trust in someone once they've earned it from her, which is both terrifying and absurdly sweet. She tries her best to be good but often her shyness gets the best of her. In calm, familiar situations she relaxes enough that she can sometimes speak and she completely loses her shyness when she's alone. That allows a different side of her to be seen, one that's graceful and thoughtful. [Name] wishes she could be like that all of the time. Name:- Ability:Chlorophyll Moves:Absorb, Growth [/size] [/div][/td][/tr][/table] "Wait just a moment, sweetie, and I'll get you your phone and trainer ID," she said quietly, not wanting to surprise the girl. Thyme stepped away, and rustled in through the lab drawer for a few minutes before pulling out a red phone and something that looked very similar to a plastic card. The card she held up to Lorelai and pressed a button so that the girl's face appeared on the card before it went blank. She hoped it hadn't bothered the girl at all, but she did have to take pictures of each trainer, no matter how shy they were. "Whenever you've chosen you can just come over here and take these, okay?" Thyme said, "The phone is for you and the trainer ID carries your money and identifies you, of course. I've already put some money on there for you, darling, so don't worry about that."

[atrb=width,400,true][atrb=rules,none,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][bg=201f1f] lorelai only evoked a sense of hope, a sense of longing when her opportunity sets in, a craving of sorts; a kindling fire that feeds off minuscule sparks of pride and ambition. harbored within her faintly lit spirit was a scathingly wild energy that refused to cease, refused to be tamed; like an ecstatic quivering of a feverish bow climaxing against the harsh strings of a violin. in so many words, she had the temperament of an aspiring musician. frenzied. patient. blissful. a dreamer with nothing left to dream. so when her empyrean eyes beheld the beam of thyme's face, she couldn't help but offer a grin of her own.
upon the woman's departure, lorelai was awash with a habitual urgency to help her retrieve the Pok?mon. howbeit, she refused to lose herself now in pitiful thoughts of guilt and instead attempted to focus her attention elsewhere as the hum of thyme's words drifted into the farthest corners of the room. eyes took firm hold of the windows perched against the wall. a sigh escaped her to accompany the previous silence and just as the last bit of air had been pressed from her lungs her muscles cooed as well. from here things would be different, and for some strange reason that was the most delightful thing.
immediately upon thyme's return lorelai's eyes magnetized toward the three petilil. though they all looked the same, aside from the few curls of their petals, lorelai quickly noted their general nature. thoughts whirled within the fathomless depths of her own mind. any call from thyme was responded with a senseless nod from the dark-haired girl, consideration seeming to possess her slightly. to her own surprise, some of the petilil reflected a piece of her. cautious, shy. two traits she desperately desired to rid of. for a moment she wondered if this was simply coincidental or if the thyme had planned this. as harsh as it may foretell, lorelai swiftly dispatched the second one. if her own Pok?mon couldn't trust her.. how could she trust it in return? perhaps such a cautious Pok?mon wasn't the best way to start a journey, when it was so crucial to have a bond as quickly as possible. at least, that's how lorelai presumed it should be. gulping, her irises hesitantly switched between the remaining petilil. another shy one on the team.. ? at least they would be relateable towards each other. and then the sleepy one.. definitely not as high maintenance as the others.
blinking, her surroundings once again came back to her best interest at the sound of thyme's soothing baritones. she nodded towards her, immensely thankful that she was prepared for her identification shot. silently praying for a good picture as she smiled, she waited a few moments before speaking. "o-okay. thank you," she mumbled, features animating when an epiphany suddenly struck at her. "my n-n-name is lorelai faust, in c-case you need it." awkwardly, she looked back at the row of petilil, daring not to make any eye contact with the kimono-bearer. "i think i know which one i want.." uncertainly she stepped towards the Pok?mon, edging toward the dreamy looking one. her lips tightened sheepishly while she rubbed the back of her neck. sapphire gaze timidly wandered frontly upon the other petilil. "s-sorry.. i'm sure you two will find other homes soon!" unable to wait for any other confrontation, she immediately beckoned the sleepy petilil to follow her to the desk. pupils stared shyly at the desk, finger barely grazing the edge of the table. "am i okay to g-go now? not that i'm in any r-rush, or anything, i j-just uh.. i just don't wanna be a bother."

Thyme was, for once, not worried when the girl didn't reply to her. She could tell that the young, new trainer was wrapped up in deciding which Pokémon would be the best for her and smiled to see it, remembering her own choice of Pok?mon, years ago. The little chikorita had long since left her trainer, believing Thyme to be too silly and stupid for her, but over the years the pain of it had dulled. She considered herself perfectly happy as a lab aide and refused to ever regret her choice.
Thyme gave an absentminded smile at Lorelai's polite words to the other petilil as she typed the girl's name into her trainer ID. Lorelai could do it herself, of course, but she wanted to do as much for the girl as she could before she left.
"Yes," Thyme said fondly as she pushed the phone and trainer ID over to the counter closer to Lorelai, "You can leave whenever you like, darling. Just make sure to take your phone and trainer ID there with you. There'll be some money already loaded on your trainer ID, so if you need anything don't hesitate to buy it. And of course, you can always come back and visit me if you need any help."
Thyme would've liked to insist that the girl take her phone number just in case, but she wasn't about to break the lab rules, even if she suspected they had only been put in place because of flirting. She really did wish she could add some more money to Lorelai's card. The wide eyed girl just looked so....helpless....
