HARK THE HERALD ANGEL SINGS!
Agnes Herald has stepped in to strengthen the Parsenne after almost half a year of stagnation. She announced a rash of bold new regenerative measures, including a revision of Acero City’s stringent planning laws to allow for greater settlement and development.
In a move that mimics Marie Cuthbert’s masterful revitalisation of Marshtown’s struggling docking districts, she has also announced the ’Acero2012 Plan” which aims to increase investor confidence in the city and by extension, its currency. The vast majority of Parsenne users are in that country, and depending on the exchange rates, it can sometimes be cheaper to conduct trades in what some in the north denigrate as “the lesser currency”. For this reason, Herald has always had a vested interest in keeping her voters happy and ensuring that the Bank of Fezu works to stabilise the Parsenne.
The currency recovered slightly as a result, rising to Ƨ100 : Ƹ100, a gain of Ƨ2, stabilising at the so-called parity price. This typically represents a peak for the Parsenne - it has not traded more powerfully than the Solere for many months, and it’s excursions above Ƨ100 have usually been brief. Brett Benjamin, who has largely been co-ordinating efforts to improve the Parsenne’s standing. The strength of the currency also impacts on Solastella’s politics - as the Parsenne rises, not only does Acero’s standing, but so does that of Menes, at the expense of Sierraville.
Cuthbert and Herald have long had a strong personal relationship, and so this harmonisation of governorship is not entirely unexpected. Nonetheless, analysts are shocked by plans proposed to allow Acero City’s population to balloon to up to 500,000, largely from smaller islands.
Dr. Kallei was largely positive about the plans, which he said would help rejuvenate the island but questioned its potential impact on Acero Beach, widely deemed to be the most beautiful part of Solastella. He has offered to help Herald with Acero2012’s development, citing his own city’s large population and sustainable growth.
Carrick, Menes City’s controversial gym leader rubbished the plans saying that “Solastella should never have conquered that rock anyway.”
