Well, what would you give me as a Lanturn moveset then? Clearly you are the expert here.

I'd give Lanturn Surf/Hydro Pump, Thunder, Signal Beam, and Confuse Ray (Volt Absorb ability obviously). Surf/Hydro for a good STAB against Ground types that could hurt it. Thunder cause it has 100% acc in rain. Signal Beam to kill those pesky Grass types. And Confuse Ray just cause it's a kinda nice annoyance attack. As for an item, not really sure, maybe Wise Glasses.
Speaking of holds, Ludicolo needs Leftovers or Big Root, Gyarados needs Cell Battery, and Lapras needs Leftovers or Rocky Helmet. Not really sure about Tentacruel, although I'd say Black Sludge would be a decent choice.

Those all sounds good to me. Now, all I have to do is decide between Lanturn and Wishcash and some items. Wonder what Graz and Crim's opinions are...
I'd give Lapras Rocky Helmet, though, since the entire point is to make the other Pok?mon hurt, right? And Lapras would have Rest, so I don't think Leftovers would be needed.

agreeing on the rocky helmet for lapras for the given reason
and i think my vote will be for lanturn (lol what a turn of events rite?), since its moveset covers well and i like signal beam
EDIT: asked for feedback from nish and crim! nish seemed to like lanturn's moveset, and crim's vote is also for lanturn.

Alright, looks like we're going with Lanturn then. That's certainly a surprise.
Team is now:
Lapras, Hydration: Rest, Toxic, Surf, Ice Beam Item: Rocky Helmet
Gyarados, Intimidate: Bulldoze, Waterfall, Ice Fang, Dragon Tail Item: Cell Battery
Tentacruel, Rain Dish: Toxic Spikes, Sludge Wave, Water Pulse, Hex Item: Black Sludge
Politoad, Drizzle: Bounce, Mud Bomb, Water Pulse, ? Item: Eject Button
Lanturn, Volt Absorb: Surf/Hyrdo Pump, Thunder, Signal Beam, Confuse Ray Item: Wise Glasses?
Ludicolo, Rain Dish: Leech Seed, Giga Drain, Ice Beam, Scald Item: Leftovers/Big Root
Look good? Want to fill in any blank spots?

Sooooooo I just realized that there's not a single attack on the team that can hit Steel types for even neutral damage (except for Politoad's mud bomb, but that doesn't really count)...
My solution is to get rid of Lanturn's Confuse Ray and give it Hidden Power (Ground). Not only will this give the team some defense against Steel types, but it'll help out Lanturn's role as the Electric-killer. With this, I'd suggest changing Lanturn's item to Choice Specs for massive damage and then switching it out a few turns later.

lanturn getting hidden power sounds good to me. i'm not so sure on the choice specs though... it wouldn't be very fun or interesting to roleplay a Pok?mon that can only use one move a bunch of times in a row until it's switched out. just from that standpoint i feel like the wise glasses give lanturn a power boost while allowing it to be versatile to roleplay.

Yeah, I'm agreeing with Zom on the Choice Specs thing, though we probably should have a Hidden Power Ground for Lanturn.....
